Early impressions / Concept

The following details my (early) impression and thought process to build a visual (moving image) narrative that compliments the branding of Winonah while also supplying a confident and ‘undeniable’ visual appeal.

While I was engaging with the brand story my mind couldn’t help but to focus on some very important core philosophical viewpoints. Naturally, I began to ‘sense’ the visuals, if you will.

“SENSES OF DESIRE”

To be an object of desire means to trigger the senses. Approaching the (moving) visual story this way gives us story-driven access but more importantly practical clarity. Translating each sense into a visual result will give the opportunity to build well thought-out video concepts that trigger either a singular or multiple senses at once. Through this visual narrative it can be interesting to explore smell, vision and touch.

“SMELL”

The ‘invisible’ attraction

Obviously with a perfume means to ‘show’ a sense of smell. Whether that is through storytelling (voiceover) or sound design (inhale) and physically showing the act. This can be a very ‘human’ approach to the story. Rather than focusing only on product, also focus on the interaction with it through scent.

“VISION”

To experience beauty is to see it

This allows a balance between the beauty of the model and the product at once. Appreciating the design and making way for the brand and product to shine through.

“TOUCH”

Touch evokes the sense of ‘feeling’

With touch is to once again balance the product and the skin. Being able to bring forward the texture, materials and beauty of the bottle while also showing it quite literally connecting to the skin/our model.

“ADDITIONAL INSPIRATION”

To (very importantly) amplify/strengthen the visual narrative.
